AEW World Champion MJF’s Re-Bar Mitzvah

Happy birthday to the devil himself! The AEW World Champion’s music is met with a chorus of boos, but the boos turn to thunderous cheers as MJF makes his way to the ring, flanked by some beautiful ladies. MJF plays some tonsil-hockey with one of them at ringside before entering the ring.

He roasts the crowd for liking Bret Hart. As if that was not enough, he praises Shawn Michaels. He makes some extremely disrespectful comments, saying that no religion matters other that Judaism. MJF goes on about losing his V-card at his original Bar Mitzvah when he turned 13 and brags about his Ironman Match victory against Bryan Danielson at AEW Revolution. He calls himself ‘Iron Man.’

Wait a minute… out comes Jungle Boy… thunderous reception for Jack Perry in Winnipeg as the crowd sings along to his theme. Just as he gets in the ring, Sammy Guevara’s music plays. The crowd is chanting for Sammy too. I think we and the crowd knows where this is going. Just as Sammy begins to speak, Darby Allin is out next. Huge Darvy chants. The Four Pillars of AEW are all together in the same ring. This is an unprecedented moment!

MJF asks what they want. They all demand at the same time “I want a title match!” MJF trades barbs with Jack Perry first, before Sammy Guevara has a verbal back-and-forth with him. Darb Allin is next, and he cuts a heartfelt promo, and MJF retorts at all three of them, noting that unlike them, he has never needed someone in his corner and is still infinitely more successful than them.

MJF claims that while they all may be considered the pillars, he’s the only one who can truly hold AEW up… after all, he’s beaten them all before. But things escalate quickly as MJF gets physical and shoves Jack Perry’s face. Perry isn’t having it though and fights back. Then, out of nowhere, Guevara jumps in and attacks Perry! But hold up, Darby isn’t about to let that slide, so he jumps in and goes after Guevara. It is absolute chaos! While MJF manages to avoid being sent through a table, he does end up getting covered in cake and is a complete mess as he retreats.

“Now that’s how you kick off Dynamite! What a damn segment! This was an amazing segment!”

Hangman Page, Stu Grayson & Evil Uno vs. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta

ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and JEEYYYAAAAHHNN MOOXXLLLEEEYYYY make their way to the ring as we head to the commercial break…

Out next is ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and the Dark Order. The crowd has been hot throughout the night, but they are especially hot for Stu Grayson, at least for Stu Grayson standards.

Anyway, Wheeler Yuta and Evil Uno kick off the action. Yuta and Uno trade some blows before Yuta tags in Jon Moxley. They double team, before Claudio tags in. The Blackpool Combat Club is getting heat on Uno. Just for reference, BCC are complete heels now. Moxley tags back in.

Mox gets some more heat on Uno before Yuta takes a cheap shot at Hangman outside. The distraction allows Uno to tag in Stu Grayson.

Grayson downs Castagnoli with a Meteora, and Moxley charges in with a series of forearms. Grayson catches Moxley with a uranage, Claudio lands a boot, and Stu follows up with a tornado DDT. He then hits a springboard… and executes a Corkscrew Springboard Senton Atomico for a near fall. Grayson is sent over the low bridge and crashes between the barricade and apron. Castagnoli then tosses him around like a ragdoll before BCC delivers a triple piledriver on him on the floor, and we’re off to a break!

We’re back from commercial, and Moxley is in control, locking in an Achilles hold on Grayson. Transitions to a Gotch-style Piledriver. 1-2-no! There’s some back-and forth moves among all six men, it’s just too hard to keep track of at this point. Hangman finally tags in and charges in, cleaning house!

Fallaway Slam for Yuta, a huge plancha for Claudio, and Hangman, fired up, lands a huge lariat, knocking Yuta down. There’s a powerbomb, a pop up powerbomb, a swanton bomb, and all sorts of other moves from everybody to everybody.

Moxley and Page are left trading forearms in the middle of the ring. A huge lariat downs Moxley, but Wheeler Yuta wipes out Hangman with the ring bell as Mox distracted the referee. The match again breaks down into a two-on-three brawl and another cheap shot leaves Uno clutching his knee…

Grayson is putting up a fierce fight, and he takes Claudio out with a tope con giro on the floor! Uno then lands a Paradigm Shift on Moxley, Stu jumps off the top and lands a 450 splash… but Moxley kicks out! The Gory Special lift follows, the Fatality connects, 1=2=NOO! Yuta breaks it up! Grayson then hits a Pele kick, followed by a Hurricanrana.

There’s some more back-and-forth, with Grayson fighting the odds… but Jon Moxley finally locks in the sleeper hold and that is it!

Result: The Blackpool Combat Club defeat Hangman Page and the Dark Order

Moxley transitions to a bulldog choke before the Dark Order runs to make the save. The BCC stands tall as we go to a pre-taped promo from Juice Robinson, who issues a stern warning to Ricky Starks as we head to commercial break.

Jade Cargill’s TBS Championship Open Challenge

Back from commercial, out comes the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill. Her opponent is a local competitor from Winnipeg, Nicole Matthews, who is defeated within seconds. That’s 54-0.

“I heard ‘Nicole…’ and was like, ‘could it be Nicole Garcia??’ Just for a split second. Anyway…”

Result: Jade Cargill retains the TBS Championship

Renee Moxley Good is now in the ring to interview the champ, and Cargill is apparently mad cause Miss Moxley Good is from Canada. Taya Valkyrie makes her way to the ring to confront Cargill. Cargill and Valkyrie face off. The champ retreats. Meanwhile, Leyla Grey goes for a cheap shot, but Taya Valkyrie takes her out instead with the ‘Jaded.’

We head backstage, where Ricky Starks retorts to Juice Robinson’s message from earlier in the night. He takes shots at the Bullet Club schtick, saying that the faction was last relevant in 2015.

We cut to the inaugural episode of “QTV,” where QT Marshall makes references to Vince McMahon, Batista, and some other folks as he buries Wardlow. We learn that when Wardlow’s car was “broken into,” his passport was also “stolen,” thus explaining his absence tonight.

AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy vs Jeff Jarrett

Double J bounces off the ropes and executes a smooth arm drag, following it up with a Fargo Strut. He repeats the sequence and then takes a moment to rest against the turnbuckles and taunt the champion. Cassidy puts him in the ropes, hands in his pockets, and attempts a dropkick, but Jarrett catches it. The spinning toehold is blocked, and Cassidy executes a leapfrog and a body slam, but unfortunately, his knee gives out.

Mocking Cassidy’s little kicks with his hands down his trunks, Jeff sends him to the floor, and the match goes to commercial.

“That is honestly the best those kicks have ever looked. I absolutely love Jeff Jarrett!”

Upon returning, Cassidy is writhing on the floor, clutching his knee. Back inside, Jarrett keeps kicking at the leg and calls for the figure four. After changing grips, he decides to step through and do a Sharpshooter instead. Cassidy reverses the move and applies a Sharpshooter of his own, but Double J’s teammates push the bottom rope into his hands for the break.

Jarrett applies a sleeper hold, and Cassidy appears to fade but gets back to his feet, hands still in his pockets, executes a cool-looking counter. He applies a sleeper hold of his own, but Satnam Singh delivers a cheap shot.

Jarrett executes a shinbreaker and then locks in a spinning toehold into a figure four leglock. Cassidy mounts a steady comeback and both men trade hard right hands while standing. Referee Bryce Remsburg takes a tumble, and ref Aubrey Edwards replaces him and takes Jarrett’s guitar away.

Cassidy executes a schoolboy for a two-count, and Jarrett kicks his leg out from under him again. Arguing with Aubrey, Cassidy grabs the guitar, and Singh takes it from him. Cassidy gets Aubrey’s attention, and she ejects Singh and Sonjay Dutt from ringside. He executes a Tornado DDT and a one-leg kip-up, pulling his elbow sleeve off, but Jeff distracts Bryce as he recovers.

Jay Lethal slides into the ring and clocks Orange Cassidy with Paul Walter Hauser’s Golden Globe. That has to be it… 1-2-NOOO!!

Lethal grabs the guitar, but Trent Beretta makes the save, and he and Jay brawl out into the crowd. Cassidy rolls under a lariat, but his knee gives out. Jarrett looks for the Stroke, but it’s blocked, and as he bounces off the ropes, Cassidy executes the Orange Punch, and it’s over!

Result: Orange Cassidy retains the International Championship over Jeff Jarrett

“That was flat… I really thought we could have a new champ tonight. Double J tried his best to make Cassidy ACTUALLY WRESTLE, but Jarrett should have won the title here.”

Back from commercial, we get a music video from The Acclaimed.

We hear from The Outcasts (Saraya, Toni Storm, & Ruby Soho)

Ruby Soho, Toni Storm and Saraya take turns to cut promos on the non-outcasts, make some lewd comments, before Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter run-in. A wild brawl ensues, with Hayter and Baker initially getting the advantage, before the numbers game catches up. Toni Storm with the Storm Zero! Ruby Soho with the Destination Unknown!

“The destination is unknown alright, for this damn feud..”

Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue run in to make the save but it’s still not enough. Riho makes her way to the ring to finally even the odds.

Backstage, Daddy Magic’s nipples are hard, apparently cause of The Acclaimed new music video.

AEW World Trios Championship: House of Black vs Jericho Appreciation Society vs The Elite

House of Black make their entrance first, followed by The Elite. Thunderous chants for Kenny Omega. Chris Jericho, Danny and Sammy are out next.

Jericho and Black start off the feeling out process, before Omega tags in to face-off Jericho. The crowd is going nuts! The House of Black attacks both men (illegally) to a chorus of boos as we head to the break.

Back from commercial, it all breaks down into a typical spot-fest as these matches always do. This is honestly impossible to keep track off; everyone’s doing a bunch of cool-looking s**t and Winnipeg is eating it up.

Jericho with a Codebreaker to Omega for a near fall! We cut backstage and see Hangman Page, John Silver and Alex Reynolds brawling with the Blackpool Combat Club. Apparently, Grayson and Uno are at the hospital, or so Excalibur would have us believe.

Back in the ring, Jericho with a Lionsault on Omega, who gets his knees up. As both men roll out, Matt Jackson performs a bunch of Northern Lights Suplexes on Danny Garcia, followed by a double Northern Lights Suplex on Danny and Sammy.

Brody King arrives to clear out the ring. The crowd suddenly starts barking, which is apparently Brody King’s YES! chant… Malakai and Buddy now enter the ring, but let Sammy get to his corner so he can tag in Chris Jericho, the man they want.

House of Black assaults Y2J, and land the Dante’s Inferno, but Kenny Omega breaks it up. There’s some more moves by some more people on some more people, before Danny Garcia suffers a Dante’s Inferno himself and THAT IS IT!

Result: House of Black retain the AEW World Trios Titles

Jake Hager and the purple hat run down, wearing a ridiculous outfit, but is taken out. Suddenly, Hangman Page & and Blackpool Combat Club end up brawling towards the ring.

“We didn’t see Moxley bleed tonight… Could we see it, could we still see it?? Come on! Give Winnipeg what they want damnit!!”

As Hangman Page enters the ring, Mox, Claudio and Yuta swarm the ring, but from the same side, if that makes sense. Meanwhile, The Elite, who were looking in the opposite direction, turn around, and they seem to have Hangman’s back.

The Blackpool Combat Club retreats, and Hangman does not understand why, before he turns around to find The Elite standing behind him. We are three minutes into overtime at this point, so Dynamite abruptly goes off the air…

“Tonight’s show may not have made the most sense, as AEW seldom does, but for what it was, it was cool, and you could lose yourself.”

Here’s a quick rundown from tonight:

  • The Blackpool Compat Club (sans Bryan Danielson) defeated Hangman Page, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson
  • Orange Cassidy retained the International Championship over Jeff Jarrett
  • Jade Cargill retained the TBS Championship over enhancement talent
  • The House Of Black retained the AEW World Trios Championships over The Elite and the Jericho Appreciation Society

“AEW Dynamite was fun tonight, and I’ll see ya for Friday Night Smackdown on Saturday, I mean Friday for you, Saturday at my place… Anyway, toodles!”
