AEW Dynamite Results (7/12/2023)
#1. Chris Jericho vs. Komander — Winner: Chris Jericho
Don Callis makes his way to the ring. He congratulates Jericho on his victory. The wrestling world is buzzing at the possibility of him joining the Don Callis family. 28 years ago, they were part of a faction with Bad News Allen. He’s a little nostalgic, so he put together a video package of them together all those years ago in 1995. Jericho said that Bad News Allen told him to stay with Callis no matter what. Don says that Bad News would know what Jericho’s answer should be.
Meanwhile, Jack Perry is still running with Hook, who surprises him in the car.
Backstage, Don Callis says that later tonight, he will announce the fifth member of the Blackpool Combat Club to face The Elite at Blood & Guts. He’s not afraid of Kenny Omega, because he betrayed his family and Kenny will be hiding behind the skirts of the Young Bucks.
In a funny segment, Adam Cole gets MJF to play AEW Fight Forever, and he absolutely hates this nerdy stuff. But wait, MJF actually starts enjoying it because he has never played a video game with a buddy before, because he hasn’t had a real friend before. Cole admits that Maxwell is pretty cool. MJF says let’s go and win those tag team titles together. And they do just that on AEW Fight Forever, but they want to do it for real.
#2. [Blind Eliminator Semi-Final] Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy vs. Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia — Winners: Guevara & Garcia
#3. [Blind Eliminator Semi-Final] MJF & Adam Cole vs. Big Bill & Brian Cage — Winners: MJF & Adam Cole
MJF & Adam Cole each get a microphone. The champ asks if there are any devil worshippers in the house tonight. He is super over. Jeez. He asks Cole to do the thing. Adam Cole BAY BAY! He plugs their shirt on AEWshop.com. They didn’t get to hit their double clothesline finisher today, but it’s coming. It’s story time with Adam Cole, bay bay.
Never in his wildest dreams did he think the tag team of Adam Cole and MJF would work. Not only did it work, but they were pretty damn good. He did not have high expectations, but he expects to win this tournament. And why stop there? When they win, on July 29th, they get a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. If they can stay on the same page, they will become the new tag team champions. Why is that? Why? Because they are better than you, bay bay.
Backstage, Jake Hager asks Chris Jericho if he is serious about joining Don Callis. Jericho says he doesn’t know. He just needs some time. Hager says they have history too. He has been there since day one. He needs to know because his career is on the line, too. Until he is straight with him, he can’t give him 100%. Hager hands him his purple hat and walks out.
#4. [Owen Hart Cup Semi-Final] Ruby Soho (w/ The Outcasts) vs. Skye Blue — Winners: Ruby Soho
#5. Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Nick Wayne — Winner: Swerve Strickland
Don Callis is here to announce the 5th member for the Blackpool Combat Club at the Blood & Guts match. They will slaughter The Elite. There is no one more deserving of this abuse than Kenny Omega. The real Omega is a coward and a punk. These insults prompt Kenny Omega’s music to hit. He makes his way to the ring, but is ambushed by the BCC. Pac returns! He’s the 5th man.
Pac & Kenny Omega have a lot of history. After beating him down, Pac tells him he will pay the price for shattering his nose. The BCC holds down Omega so Pac can hit his finisher… but Omega tells them they have a 5th member too. Kota Ibushi! We will see The Golden Elite reunited at Blood & Guts.
The rest of The Elite show up to save Omega from the BCC. Kenny Omega says at Blood & Guts, it will be more than a fight. It will be about love, passion, and friendship. The BCC will never win this battle. Next week, they will find out. And when they are all down and out, Omega is coming for Callis. Goodbye. And good night… Bang!
