A fan got himself thrown out of the Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday night due to a wildly inappropriate sign he was holding up on the camera-side of the crowd at the AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash 2021 special event on TNT.
The fan was holding a sign that read, “Nyla Rose is that guy’s dad,” with an arrow underneath the text pointing to the person sitting to his left.
Not only did the sign make it on television during the broadcast on Wednesday evening, but the sign caught the attention of the subject-name referenced on it — Nyla Rose.
Rose made eye contact with the fan and flipped him the bird as she was entering the ring for her TBS Women’s Championship Tournament semifinal match against Ruby Soho.
Shortly thereafter, a social media campaign began with fans looking to have justice served by getting the fan ejected from the building. Rose’s wife was among the fans on Twitter who used the social media platform to help spread the word, making Greensboro Coliseum / AEW security officials aware of the tasteless sign and ultimately getting the fan kicked out of the arena for being extremely inappropriate.
“He was removed,” another fan wrote on Twitter after watching the fan get escorted by security right out of the building as the show was still in progress. “They had to track him down but when they got him, he was emphatically removed from the building.”
Nyla Rose’s wife hopped on social media after the fan was ejected to add to the fan quoted above with additional information on how everything was handled, noting there was more love and support than anything else from those actively involved in the topic on social media as it was happening. She wrote the following across a few posts on her Twitter page (see tweets below).
“There has been so much more love than hate tonight and that alone tells me we are all doing something right. They call us names, call us sensitive, when the real issue is; they’re mad they can’t just get away with being bigots anymore. They always tell on themselves. Let them. My mentions are blowing the f*ck up, but I want you all to know how much I appreciate the support you give for my wife. I cannot adequately express my gratitude. Much love to you all. Goodnight!”
