Former WWE and current AEW star Jake Atlas (real name Kenny Sanchez Martinez) was arrested on May 23rd in Orlando, Florida. According to the police report, Atlas was charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic assault) on his partner of several years.

The report notes that officers responded to a domestic violence call at Atlas’ home at 12:57 AM. When they arrived, they were told Atlas was out drinking at “Big Daddy’s Roadhouse” the night before. He wound up calling his partner at 10 PM EST to come pick him up. When his partner arrived, Atlas demanded that the partner stay and drink with him. The victim told police that Atlas later asked him to go back to another friend’s house to be intimate together. Atlas then became upset that his partner was showing “half more attention” to them than Atlas himself. This resulted in a “verbal argument” ensuing.

According to the victim, Atlas then “became physically aggressive” and charged at him. Another witness at the scene intervened at that point. The witness convinced Atlas to return to his home and “sleep it off”. The victim left to go back to his apartment but Atlas followed behind, continuing to yell at him as he attempted to walk away. Atlas once again tried to attack the victim with the witness once again trying to prevent it. This time around, the victim was left with a scratch on his left forearm and his tank top being torn.

The witness was eventually able to get Atlas away from the victim and got him into a car, but Atlas exited the vehicle and said he wanted to go into the victim’s apartment that they shared to retrieve his dog. As Atlas approached and entered the apartment, he refused to leave and that’s when the police were called.

The responding officer said Atlas was given a chance to share his side of the story, but he instead only wanted to “speak badly” about the victim. At that point, the officer determined Atlas was the aggressor and placed him under arrest.

On the same day he was arrested, Atlas signed a no contact order that states he will have no communication and will stay 500 feet away from the victim.

Atlas was released from jail on May 23rd. He has a court appearance in Orange County, Florida on June 28th at 7:30 AM.

While Atlas signed with AEW back in January, he suffered a torn ACL during an episode of Rampage and hasn’t been seen since.

As of this writing, Atlas has yet to issue any sort of statement on his arrest.
