WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther has impressed fans with his time in the promotion and has caught the attention of AEW’s Dax Harwood.
After being called up to WWE’s main roster, Gunther captured the Intercontinental Championship in June 2022, defeating Ricochet.
Despite being best known as a tag-team wrestler, Dax Harwood shared his interest in facing Gunther when asked who he wants to face one-on-one during the latest FTR podcast. He said,
“I would say probably GUNTHER maybe No. 1. I’ve watched a lot of his stuff this year, and I missed out on a lot of the independent stuff he did overseas a while back because I was just traveling so much. But I’ve watched a lot of his stuff, and I think he and I could do some good business.”
Harwood, alongside Cash Wheeler, is currently on a hiatus from AEW, with their deals set to expire later this year.
This week saw Gunther reach another milestone in his impressive reign as Champion, as he now holds the record for the longest Intercontinental title reign of the 21st century.
