Swerve Strickland has been thriving in AEW with his impressive wrestling abilities and strong presence, quickly establishing himself as a cornerstone of the company.
However, despite his increasing popularity, an unexpected group of AEW stars has been surpassing Strickland in merchandise sales.
The Outrunners have garnered significant fan support in both AEW and ROH and appear to be achieving impressive results in merchandise sales.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that August sales estimates indicate that The Outrunners are outselling prominent stars such as Strickland, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and others.
As reported by Wrestlenomics, the leading merchandise sellers for the month include AEW, Will Ospreay, MJF, ROH, Mariah May, Darby Allin, The Outrunners, Danielson, Britt Baker, and artist Rob Schamberger.
While this is a great achievement for Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum, the report highlights the fact that The Outrunners and Schamberger are surpassing current and former AEW World Champions in merchandise sales, as well as established sellers such as The Young Bucks and Orange Cassidy.
Strickland recently inked a new AEW contract, and it remains to be seen if he will experience improved merchandise sales in the near future.
