Hangman Page set fire to Swerve Strickland’s childhood home during the September 4th episode of AEW Dynamite, adding fuel to their upcoming Unsanctioned Lights-Out Steel Cage match at All Out 2024.
As the house went up in flames, Page was seen sipping on whiskey. Earlier, Strickland had posted a video about buying the very same home.
Fightful Select is reporting that this storyline has been in the works for months, with a small crew being brought in for the scene.
It’s worth noting that the house wasn’t Strickland’s childhood home, and AEW mentioned his new deal on TV as part of the storyline.
The background of the burning home was kept under wraps, with several wrestlers praising Strickland for his kayfabe purchase.
Page wasn’t taken into custody despite the arson, with plans for a storyline explanation in the works.
