Rumors persist that Shane McMahon could join AEW, but if he does, he’ll be in for a painful welcome courtesy of the House of Black’s Brody King.
In July, McMahon had a meeting with AEW President Tony Khan where it’s reported that the two men discussed opportunities moving forward.
This meeting, photographed by Mercedes Mone, has led to speculation that McMahon could join AEW, over a year after appearing for WWE.
On a recent edition of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, King discussed McMahon possibly becoming part of the AEW roster. He said,
“Whether it be good or bad, it would definitely get people talking. Shane has always been someone that’s kind of gone by his own drum. He never had to be the wrestler he was—he never had to be a wrestler at all, and he did. You could tell that he definitely has a passion for pro wrestling.”
King also gave praise to McMahon for his high-risk, high-reward style in the ring despite not needing to do such stunts to be on TV. He said,
“It’s easy to be the son of a rich guy, but to do the death-defying things he did and get in the ring with other pro wrestlers—that speaks a whole other volume to his character and him as a person.”
When asked how a match between himself and McMahon would go, King was confident that Shane would “get broken in half.”
