Bryan Danielson faced off against Jeff Jarrett on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
While appearing on the latest edition of “The Nikki & Brie Show,” Danielson revealed that he had “so much fun” in the bout. He said,
“Jeff Jarrett is 56 or 57, so combined, we’re 100 years old. I had so much fun. It was so much fun. Jeff and I had never wrestled before, we were in one six man tag against each other.”
He continued, “This is one of the things I marvel at. Wrestling has changed dramatically. Every decade it changes, entertainment changes, the world evolves. But there’s a real magic to some of the older wrestlers, like a part of the arm form has been lost. So when you’re in the ring with someone like Jeff Jarrett, it’s like, this is so much fun and it’s so cool.”
Mariah May is promising that her match with Toni Storm at AEW All In: London will be a “cinematic masterpiece.”
May, who will be challenging Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the August 25th pay-per-view event at Wembley Stadium, recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to hype the match.
You can check out some highlights from the interview below:
On what to expect from the match: “It’s going to be a cinematic masterpiece. I’ve already taken Toni from black-and-white into technicolor. Wembley is her curtain call and a new start for me.”
On being interested in the storyline from the moment it was pitched to her: “I was a bit of a black-and-white film nerd growing up, especially as a teenager, so I knew all about it. I love theater, and I became obsessed with old black-and-white movies. I’d wake up, have a cup of tea, and watch. So it felt like a completely normal idea to me–it tied into my life. I wanted to draw from it, but never copy it black and white, no pun intended. I wanted to bring Mariah May into the story, that glamour. I don’t remember anyone getting beat by a shoe like I did to Toni.”
