On AEW Dynamite Spring Breakthru, Nick Wayne (accompanied by his mother and Kip Sabian) started to cut a promo about how someone needs to step up when the father of a family is missing, just as the leader of The Patriarchy, Christian Cage, returned to cut him off.

Cage hasn’t been seen since the Dynamite after AEW Revolution wherein he failed to cash in his title shot properly. He inserted himself into the match between Jon Moxley vs. Cope, only to be the one who lost the match.

Wayne had been upset about this, expressing over the past month how Cage deviated from the plan, saying tonight that his theory is that Cage was too worried that Cope would become world champion before him, so he panicked instead of waiting for the right moment.

Cage expressed that he gave Wayne the past month to find himself and expand his mind, and that he was impressed with what he’s seen. As a result, Cage has taken it upon himself to advocate on Wayne’s behalf to get him not only an ROH World Television Championship match against Komander on tomorrow night’s AEW Collision: Spring Breakthru, but also took credit for Wayne taking part in New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Also announced for tomorrow’s special edition of Collision are Adam Cole putting the TNT Championship on the line in an open challenge, as well as a tag team bout with Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron against Kris Statlander and Julia Hart.

To recap, here’s the lineup announced so far for AEW Collision: Spring Breakthru:

  • TBD – ROH World Television Championship Match: Komander (c) vs Nick Wayne
  • TBD – Mercedes Mone & Harley Cameron vs. Julia Hart & Kris Statlander
  • TBD – TNT Championship Open Challenge: Adam Cole (c) vs. TBA
