AEW fans can expect a big surprise on New Year’s Day as a major star is set to return.
On Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) declared their plans to face off against the Death Riders on the January 1st, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The heel faction attacked them during the December 14th episode of AEW Collision, but FTR is expected to be cleared to wrestle at Fight For The Fallen. This event will be held in their hometown of Asheville, North Carolina, and will mark the first Dynamite simulcast on both TBS and HBO MAX.
FTR hinted that they might not return alone, sparking speculation among fans that former TNT Champion and fellow Asheville native Adam Copeland will return with them.
Fightful is reporting that Copeland’s AEW return is imminent. The veteran wrestler has been sidelined for several months due to a broken leg, which he sustained after diving from the top of a steel cage at Double Or Nothing 2024.
During his recovery, Copeland had been involved in a film project. A few weeks ago, he was medically cleared for action.
