During a recent appearance on the “Casual Conversations” podcast, Ricochet discussed his match with Will Ospreay and whether it met their expectations. The two competed on AEW Dynamite, which ended in a no-contest.

Ricochet said, “Absolutely. I think so, especially because I just got here. I literally just got here. So this is just the beginning. This was just supposed to be a taste of what will come later. Again, now we’re in the Continental Classic, we’re in the same block, so now we’re gonna have another match, and we’re gonna have to have a definitive winner this time. I think that’s something he and I both were looking for last time was a definitive winner, but it got messed up, and then in the Triple Threat match, we still didn’t get our [decisive winner]. I do feel though we met our own expectations, and we continue to exceed our own expectations.”

During a recent appearance on the “Barstool Rasslin'” podcast, Ricochet expressed interest in Swerve Strickland, Bryan Danielson, and MJF as potential opponents for the upcoming year.

Ricochet has already faced several prominent AEW wrestlers, including Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita, and he was asked whom he hopes to compete against in 2025.

Ricochet said, “I think Swerve is in the contest. Swerve and I, we’ve locked up a bunch of times but not in years. We’ve both evolved as performers, he’s amazing, so Swerve is definitely in that conversation. Honestly, I feel like MJF is in that conversation. Real trash human being, but that’s why I need to get in there and smack him in the mouth a little bit. I don’t know how long he’s going to be doing it, but I feel like Bryan Danielson is somebody who I’ve never got to really get in the trenches with but he’s somebody who I feel like we would have a banger.”

During a recent appearance on “1035 KISSFM,” Ricochet claimed “if there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW.”

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On if he was “custom made” for AEW: “Absolutely. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason. I’m just saying. If there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason that it happened, but I am saying, what I have done with Ospreay, with PAC, with AR Fox, with Dragon Gate, with PWG, with everything. Overseas. New Japan. Everything I’ve done in my past career helped set up a world where AEW can exist.”

On not saying how it was only him that helped make AEW happen: “I’m not saying it’s just me. It’s me, it’s the Young Bucks. It’s Kenny Omega. It’s Ospreay. It’s everybody. I’m just saying, without Ricochet, there would be no Ospreay, really. You know what I’m saying? All of us guys are passionate and without that there would be no AEW.”
