During a recent appearance on the “Reel Appreciation” podcast, former WWE Superstar Maven was asked about his dream matchups in WWE and AEW, mentioning names such as The Rock, Steve Austin, and MJF.
On his dream opponents from WWE or AEW: “Obviously, I could put guys like Rock or Austin. I mean, they’re, obviously at the top of the list. But if we’re talking about today’s business, I love MJF. I think MJF is gonna revolutionize what it means to be a heel in wrestling. I think he’s just fantastic because he blurs the lines.”
On his thoughts on MJF: “I know him, and I know how nice of a guy he is, but most wrestling fans think that’s who he is because he does such a good job of portraying that. Going today, he’s probably one of my favorites.”
Ricochet will team up with a mystery partner to face Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite.
Ricochet recently posted a clip on Twitter declaring that he already has a tag team partner in mind for tomorrow, who The Don Callis Family won’t be too thrilled about.
Ricochet said, “OK, I’m going to make this short and sweet because because I feel like I’ve already said everything that I need to say about Takeshita and honestly the Don Callis family as a whole. But Takeshita and Fletcher, I saw your little video, I saw your little promo, calling me out to a tag team match saying that I can pick anybody of my choosing. OK, you see, that’s where you messed up because I already have somebody in mind, and I don’t think you’re going to like it very much.”
He continued, “And you’re honestly lucky that I’m here in beautiful Japan because that bought you a couple days for this a*s-whooping you’re about to receive. So yes, I will be there on Wednesday with my tag team partner, ready to beat y’all a*s. And remember, just like Don Callis, payback is a b**ch.”
