Jim Ross has called plenty of matches in the near-six-year existence of AEW, but there’s one match that stands out above the rest to the legend.

On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross shared the best match he’s called in AEW, which saw brothers face off. He said,

“Dustin [Rhodes] versus Cody [Rhodes]. I love that match, and I’ll say it today, all these months and weeks and years later, that was the best I ever called in AEW to date. There have been a lot of good ones, but that was so–that match had the unique emotional element that you couldn’t get in just an angle, or storyline.

“They’re real brothers, and that had told a great story leading into it, and then man, they delivered like champions in the match itself. So I’ll always be grateful for those two guys, Cody and Dustin, for having the match, and then I feel very blessed that I was part of the broadcast team.”

The two Rhodes brothers faced off at AEW’s first pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing, in a match many considered the best match of the night.

Cody defeated his brother at the show, which was later voted as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s event of the year.

Dustin Rhodes has also shared that the match is his favorite match of his career. Dustin currently holds gold in Ring of Honor.

Ross recently shared that one of WWE’s most shocking moments involving him was a total waste of time. Click here to find out more.
