Skittles loved how Jim Ross promoted their brand of candy on WWE programming, according to the current AEW commentator.
For years, Ross promoted Skittles with much enthusiasm, often yelling out that the products were “FRUITY” and “DELICIOUS” and often repeated the words.
On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross recalled the unique way he promoted the candy and Skittles’ response. He said,
“It was an ad-lib. The Skittles people loved it. I can’t tell you how many boxes of Skittles I got over my career. I could have supplied snacks for a children’s home. It was ad-lib. It was our weekly sponsor and you wanted to give a little personality, so that’s what I did. Sometimes those ad-libs work, sometimes they don’t.”
Jim Ross joined AEW in 2019. He recently returned to the commentary table at AEW Revolution 2024 to call the final match of Sting.
