Former AEW wrestler Fuego Del Sol has officially retired his old identity, unveiling his new ring name – KJ Orso. In a video posted Sunday on Twitter, he declared, “Fuego Del Sol is DEAD! My name is KJ Orso, and I’ve never felt more ALIVE!”
The announcement comes in the wake of Fuego’s loss to Atticus Cogar in a mask vs. career match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 event. After unmasking and exiting the ring, he reappeared at GCW’s ‘Crazy Scary Spooky Hilarious’ event, launching a surprise attack on Sam Stackhouse and aligning himself with Cogar.
In the video, Orso explained that Fuego didn’t truly die in the ring — but rather, when he became a free agent. He admitted to keeping the Fuego persona on “life support” for nearly two years, hoping for another shot that never came. He said, “I masqueraded as something I’m not. Fuego is dead.”
He closed with a chilling admission – he’s been trying to suppress the rage inside him, but now that it’s out, he’s discovered just how much he enjoys it.
