AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone is hoping to see more of ROH Women’s World Champion Athena on AEW programming, believing she’s too good not to be on TV.
During a recent interview with “Undisputed,” Mone shared her praise for Athena and her desire to see her on TV more. She said,
“Athena has been doing it for so long. I was watching her before I was even signed to WWE. I want to see her on AEW television more. She’s too good not to be seen. She’s explosive–one of the best, innovative wrestlers in the world. She is that f***ing good.”
The pair have faced off dozens of times, though the majority of their matches came as part of WWE at untelevised live events.
During this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament, Mone defeated Athena to earn a place in the finals against Jamie Hayter.
Athena has branded herself the ‘Forever Champion’ due to her near-900-day reign as ROH Women’s World Champion, the longest title reign of any ROH star in history.
