During Saturday night’s AEW WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view event, Jack Perry defeated Katsuyori Shibata with a rollup to retain the TNA Championship.
While Perry was originally caught in a sleeper, he managed to roll Shibata onto his back to get a win. The crowd wasn’t a fan of this, which resulted in Perry hitting Shibata with the belt after the bout. Daniel Garcia eventually came out to make the save.
As Perry was leaving the ring, MJF made his return. He and Garcia faced off before Perry came back and hit Garcia from behind. MJF then took advantage and pummeled Garcia before cutting a promo on him. He prepared to hit Garcia with his recovered Dynamite Diamond Ring, before Adam Cole returned to chase him away.
Cole hasn’t worked a match since AEW Grand Slam 2023, where he broke his foot in several places.
Perry’s first TNT Championship reign currently stands at 105 days.
