During a recent appearance on the “Close Up” podcast, Nick Wayne said that he hopes to become the longest-reigning ROH World TV champion in history after winning the belt last month.

Wayne won the belt from Komander on April 17 and has held it for 32 days. Samoa Joe holds the record for the longest reign at 574 days.

Wayne said,Definitely so like saying again, just like following the footsteps of people that I idolize, you know, a lot of people that I idolize went through Ring of Honor once upon a time and a lot of people have like held this championship, so to be able to hold it now and represent something that is like so special, and like feel like it’s a very like big placeholder in this business is a very big honor to me. To win it so young, I believe the youngest to win the title is another just huge honor to me. I want to hold it for as long as I can, maybe become the longest reigning. I know it’s a long time that I have to beat, but… What is the… God, do you know what the number is? Okay. I’m willing to beat it.

During a recent interview with “Marking Out,” AEW star MVP revealed that he offered to pay WWE fines in advance for potential marijuana drug test violations, as the company tested for cannabis under its wellness policy.

WWE Superstars who failed tests were required to pay fines.

MVP said,When the wellness policy started at WWE, initially, they only tested for steroids and hard drugs; they didn’t test for cannabis. Then, as I recall, all the pillheads started complaining, ‘These other guys get to smoke weed.’ They added cannabis, but it wasn’t a suspension; it was just a $1000 Fine. At that point, I was on the rocket ship, I was making ridiculous money, especially for me at that time. I said, ‘If they test us once a month and the fine is $ 1,000, that’s $ 12,000 a year.’ I went to John Laurinaitis and said, ‘Can I just give you a $12,000 check for the year? I’m gonna smoke.’ Eventually, they bumped the fine up to $2500. It was me and three other guys, I won’t bring their names up, but we would check to see who is in first place. Finally, after a couple of $2,500 fines, plus the numerous $1,000 fines….I could have bought a new car for these fines for weed. I finally stopped smoking for a while.”
