Powerhouse Hobbs Provides Injury Update + Update On Elias

Powerhouse Hobbs took to social media over the weekend to comment on the injury he suffered on the April 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. As we previously reported here on eWn, the injury will require surgery.

Hobbs wrote, “Not sure what to say. Injuries happen and we deal with them. We recalibrate, we rebuild, we reinvent. The real test is the comeback. I’ve been told I’ll come back like nothing ever happened.

So, why do I feel so angry right now? Why do I feel so disappointed? It’s because that’s all bullsh*t. Nobody comes back the same after any injury. The only choice is to come back better.

As I sit here on this Island of Darkness, I have thousands of questions running through my mind nonstop. The doctors tell me not to worry. Just HEAL and RECOVER. They have no idea that this is nothing compared to the hell I’ve been through. Just rest assured when I come back that I’m bringing Hell with me.”

Former WWE Superstar Elias has been announced for Empire State Wrestling’s upcoming “Brawlfest 2024” event, which takes place in Buffalo, New York on May 18th.

Former WWE 24/7 Champion Elias will make ESW debut

Empire State Wrestling will hold Brawlfest 2024, one of its “super show” events, on Saturday, May 18 at Buffalo RiverWorks. Elijah, formerly known as World Wrestling Entertainment’s Elias, will compete at Brawlfest alongside many of the top independent talents from across the U.S. and Western New York.

Elijah will face “Big League” John McChesney at Brawlfest. McChesney made a surprise appearance at Spring Smash in April and called out Elijah to face him at Brawlfest, as the two wrestled each other on several occasions in Pittsburgh prior to Elias joining WWE. McChesney last wrestled for ESW two years ago against “Invincible” Vince Valor.

Already announced for Brawlfest:

* GCW star Jordan Oliver will return to ESW
* Self-Proclaimed ESW Heavyweight Champion Bill Collier vs. “The White Bronco” Channing Decker
* “Red Hot” Vinnie Moon & Will Calrissian vs. “His Royal Freshness” Frank Feathers & Randy P
