Those in AEW believe Ricky Starks no longer wants to be a part of the promotion, thanks in part to his ongoing hiatus from TV, it has been claimed.
Starks hasn’t appeared for AEW since March of this year and it has been reported that WWE is greatly interested in the former FTW Champion.
Ibou of WrestlePurists is reporting that there are “no long-term plans” for Starks in AEW as the company is of the belief that he “doesn’t want to stay anymore.”
Starks is reported to be at home and healthy. Those within AEW believe he is seemingly waiting for his deal to expire, though it’s unclear when that will be.
The 34-year-old wrestler is “frustrated” with the fact that he has not been given a direction, the report adds, as it has been months since his last feud.
WWE is already home to notable AEW alum including WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, and NXT World Champion Ethan Page.
During a media call ahead of AEW All In: London 2024, Tony Khan shared his respect for Starks, who he stated remains under contract at this time.
