Daniel Garcia has been absent from AEW television since earlier this month following an angle on Dynamite where MJF attacked him, turning heel, shortly after Garcia’s loss to Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship.
As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Garcia was written off TV to safeguard AEW in case he does not return and sign a new contract.
On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez stated that people in AEW believe Garcia will stay in AEW.
Alvarez said, “I can tell you this: nothing is official. But people there do believe that Garcia is most likely re-signing.”
Meltzer added, “That’s what I’ve been hearing. But until he re-signs, it’s like whatever.”
As you may know, WWE had shown interest in Garcia in 2021, but he ultimately chose to join AEW instead.
