Report – Mercedes Mone Gets Her Own Locker Room In AEW

Mercedes Mone made her AEW debut on the March 13th “Big Business” themed episode of Dynamite, and she’s said to be under a multi-year deal with the company.

According to a report from Fightful Select, one of the original pitches for Mone’s debut was for it to take place on the Jacksonville Homecoming episode of Dynamite.

As we previously reported here on eWn, Naomi, Tamina and Bayley attended the show to support their good friend. It is said that the three were not kept particularly secret. The three women visited with AEW talent and the company assured everyone that they would not be filmed or shown on camera.

It’s worth noting that part of the deal allows Mone to have her own locker room which AEW has offered to some other female talent in the past.

As of last month, New Japan Pro Wrestling sources indicated that they had “significant plans and hopes” regarding working with Mone. She was originally planned to win the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship in the match that she suffered an injury during.

Finally, Mone wrote and produced her new theme song. It is said that her previous theme was almost note for note a copy of Kriss Kross’ “Jump” song. “Jump” used a couple of other samples that AEW would have to have cleared in addition to the Kriss Kross song. It is said that AEW officials are happy that Mone’s “CEO” nickname was emphasized in the new theme.
