Mercedes Mone has maintained an undefeated streak in AEW for over a year and currently holds six belts, including the TBS Title.

However, it appears that she actually wanted to lose at one point, but unforeseen circumstances led to a change in plans.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Mone wished to lose to Athena during the 2025 Owen Hart Cup tournament, setting the stage for a rematch between the two in July at All In: Texas.

Instead, Mone emerged victorious in that match and eventually won the Owen Hart tournament. As a result, she is now set to compete against AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm at All In: Texas.

Storm, on the other hand, was originally scheduled to face Mariah May once more at All In: Texas. However, May chose to leave AEW and sign with WWE, where she now performs as Blake Monroe in NXT.

Athena has made her return to Ring of Honor and recently participated in the Global Wars taping in Mexico.

It is unclear whether she will appear at All In: Texas next month, though she has shown interest in participating in the event.
