AEW could be losing two prominent stars who have made significant contributions to the promotion’s tag team division.
The Lucha Bros (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) are believed to have grabbed WWE’s attention as their AEW contracts approach expiration.
Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline is reporting that AEW internally believes Penta and Fenix will depart for WWE once their current deals expire.
WrestlePurists also reported yesterday that the Lucha Bros’ impending departure is expected, and alterations have been made to the AEW Worlds Trios Championship match scheduled for All In: London 2024 later this month.
As we previously reported here on eWn, Penta’s contract was due to expire between August and September, with WWE showing interest in signing him. Similarly, Fenix’s contract is set to expire this year.
The Lucha Brothers have been integral to Tony Khan’s promotion since their debut on AEW’s inaugural show in 2019.
