During a recent appearance on the “Cliabs Online” podcast, AEW wrestler Ricky Starks discussed never being starstruck in his wrestling career.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On not getting starstruck: “I’ve never been starstruck. The only person I’d probably be starstruck by would probably be Prince. But when it comes to professional wrestling, I’m so cool with it man. I don’t think I’ve ever allowed myself to even get to that point.”

On never viewing someone as above him: “Every time I’ve been backstage with someone that was more successful than me or whatnot, I’ve never looked at them as someone above me, or starstruck. But I have looked at them as ‘This is a person I can learn from.’ And, you know, pick their brain about their experience and their journey in life, and see how it went. That right there is more of an opportunity than most people get, just being in those types of locker rooms.”

MVP and Shelton Benjamin made their AEW debut at last month’s WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view event, and a few weeks later, Bobby Lashley debuted on AEW Dynamite Fright Night, where he attacked Swerve Strickland.

During a recent appearance on the “Drop The Heat” podcast, MVP shared the reasons behind the reunion of The Hurt Syndicate (previously known as The Hurt Business in WWE) in AEW.

MVP said, Well the next chapter currently is AEW. Got the boys back together, the Hurt Syndicate. I want to end that chapter the way it should have been ended, so we got plans to do some really good business in AEW. Then, I got a few matches left in me, I’d like to have one, we’ll, a few matches before I hang it up for good because I’m not officially retired yet so I want to have my final retirement match. After that, we’ll see man. I’m enjoying this role as a manager, a mouthpiece, doing commissioner work. If somebody wants to keep paying me to come around and put a microphone to my mouth, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to do it. Otherwise, as far as wrestling, that chapter is coming to a close pretty soon. Right now, I just want to have a good time making money with my friends.
