Ricochet has become a mainstay of AEW programming as a heel, but his turn to the dark side could’ve come years earlier as a WWE Superstar.
Sitting down with WFAA, Ricochet recalled pitching a heel turn in WWE only to find out that no one was interested in what he had in mind. He said,
“I mean, I think honestly it’s one of those things where you can pitch until your face turns blue, but if no one’s listening, then no one’s listening. It’s frustrating. There’s so many different stories about guys pitching stuff—just because you pitch it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. People pitch things all the time, but only certain guys actually get their ideas through. I think it was just one of those cases where I wasn’t one of those guys.”
Ricochet parted ways with WWE in 2024 and was written off TV with an attack from Bron Breakker. He would join AEW that same year.
Since landing in AEW, Ricochet has turned heel and feuded with notable names, including Swerve Strickland. He often uses scissors as his signature weapon.
