Saraya recently opened up on her “Rulebreakers” podcast about turning down a proposed romance storyline in AEW involving fellow wrestler Daddy Magic.
The former AEW wrestler explained that she wasn’t comfortable with the idea of a love angle, particularly because it would have required an on-screen kiss while she was in a relationship at the time. She said,
“They wanted me to do a love storyline with Daddy Magic. I’ve gone my whole career without doing a romance angle, and I didn’t want to start now. They said, ‘It’s just a kiss,’ but I had a boyfriend then, and I told them, ‘I can’t do it.’ So I turned it down.”
She clarified that it was the only storyline she’s ever rejected based on content, adding, “If I have a boyfriend, I just don’t think it’s appropriate to kiss someone on TV. No one had ever asked me to do that until AEW. I love Daddy Magic — he’s a great guy — but I just couldn’t go through with it.”
Saraya officially left AEW in March and is currently a free agent.
