The 2024 AEW All Out pay-per-view event was headlined by the Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page.
During the match, Strickland and Page took multiple bumps on a cinderblock. Swerve delivered a foot stomp through a table and also used a charred piece of wood to stab Page in the head.
The finish saw Page use a needle to stab Strickland in the mouth and knock him out with a chair shot to the head to secure the victory. The medical team checked on Strickland after the match.
Strickland took to Twitter to address the criticism of the violent match.
He wrote, “(UN-SANC-TIONED) What did you expect? Go where others won’t go.”
As we’ve reported here on eWn, Strickland is taking time off from AEW.
