As we previously reported here on eWn, AEW star Cash Wheeler of FTR has officially had his 2023 arrest expunged from his record. A Florida court granted the expungement on May 5, 2025, clearing his legal history of the August 2023 incident in which he was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm after allegedly brandishing a gun.
Despite the charges, Wheeler remained an active presence on AEW programming and continued competing until the case was ultimately dismissed in May 2024. He later spoke at length about the situation in a September 2024 interview with AEW’s Renee Paquette.
In a new update, Pwinsider is reporting that Wheeler received strong support within AEW throughout the legal process. Many in the company believed he was unfairly targeted and had to devote significant time and resources to clear his name from accusations that few backstage felt were credible.
