More has come to light about Bryan Danielson, following his AEW World Champion loss to Jon Moxley in the main event of AEW WrestleDream 2024.

Moxley captured the title for the fourth time by defeating Danielson via technical submission as the referee called for the bell.

Fightful Select is reporting that the health issues of Bryan discussed prior to the match are legitimate. Bryan has said he expects to undergo neck surgery this year.

The report adds that Bryan wishes he hadn’t done a couple of the regular matches he has been in in the run-up to AEW WrestleDream.

Bryan has legitimately been working without a talent contract through his AEW title run after his deal expired in August, though has said he doesn’t plan on returning to WWE.

Danielson’s reign began with a submission victory over Swerve Strickland at AEW All In: London. It’s reported that Strickland pushed for the match to end this way.

Danielson had always intended to drop the title to Jon Moxley. AEW remains hopeful that he will wrestle for them periodically moving forward.
