AEW President Tony Khan has announced that NJPW wrestler Tomohiro Ishii will extend his stay with AEW through the summer.
This decision coincides with Ishii’s absence from the NJPW G1 Climax 34 tournament for the first time since 2012, allowing him to dedicate himself fully to AEW.
Khan tweeted, “It’s so great having @njpwglobal all-time legend Tomohiro Ishii here in AEW on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT! We love having Ishii here + now he’s going to stay here in @AEW with us for the rest of summer 2024! AEW is on fire right now! Thank you all + God bless you all!”
Ishii competed against PAC, Kyle Fletcher, and Claudio Castagnoli in a Global Glory-4 Way match last night on AEW Dynamite. PAC won the bout via submission.
