Tony Khan has continued AEW’s international growth in 2025 with successful debuts in both Australia and Mexico, and he says the expansion is just getting started.
Speaking with Sports Business Journal, Khan discussed his vision for AEW’s global reach and emphasized his desire to bring events to even more new markets. He said,
“This year, we’ve expanded into great new places with our first-ever event in Mexico and our first-ever event in Australia. I want to continue expanding into new territories and also return to these places that have been really successful, like Mexico and Australia. There’s a lot of momentum and positivity around the locker room.”
AEW hosted Grand Slam events in both countries, with the Australia show held in February and Grand Slam Mexico taking place in June.
During a recent edition of his “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Konnan expressed his belief that Luther doesn’t need to be associated with Toni Storm.

On Luther: “Let me just say this, I’ve said this a lot of times that Disco disagrees with me — I don’t think Luther adds anything to that act. Anytime I see him, I just laugh. He doesn’t talk for her because she doesn’t need someone to talk for her. He doesn’t get involved in her matches. He just stands there with white gloves and makes faces. Him and Abrahantes with the Mickey Mouse clubs.”
