On a recent edition of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, former WWE Superstar AJ Francis (Top Dolla) compared his recent WWE release to an ex-girlfriend he doesn’t want to go back to.
On September 21, 2023, Top Dolla was released from his WWE contract along with a host of other Superstars.

On WWE being his passion: “WWE has always been my passion. When I was in the NFL, I wanted to be in WWE. Now that sounds ridiculous to a lot of people but it’s the truth.”
On WWE not wanting him: “It’s always been a passion of mine, it’s always something I wanted to do. But it’s one of those things like sometimes you fly too close to the sun. Did I enjoy my time in WWE? Yeah. Did I appreciate all the friends and relationships I built while I was there? Yeah. But, they didn’t want me. They proved it twice so I’m not the kind of guy that’s going to keep going back to my ex-girlfriend telling her how much I miss her. If you don’t need me, then that’s cool. I hope it works out for you ’cause I’m going to be all right.”
