AJ Gray, an independent wrestler, called out AEW for their “lack of diversity” within’ the organization. Not long after this, tweets about Gray posting about rape, homophobia and transophobia surfaced.
AJ Gray is the biggest clown in wrestling. Give him that same energy you gave Sammy Guvarra pic.twitter.com/veB8J1JhPw

These were posts made by Gray when he was eighteen. Following this, Gray apologized for the remarks he made. Other Independent Organizations Gray worked for, such as Paradigm Pro Wrestling, chimed in to defend AJ Gray.
I was 18…. I never thought my words would have consequences… I was watching Comedy Central and I thought this joke was funny.
As a 25 almost 26 year old adult, I know this is genuinely fucked up. I regret saying this, and I apologize…. I’m a matured adult now…. https://t.co/liCwukYgbS

And I know as an ADULT that those comments were horrendously wrong. I don’t make the same comments now for that reason. I was a teenager, I lived my life and learned that shit is NOT right! https://t.co/6UrjCnUkKK

When he was a teenager, AJ Gray made some regrettable & offensive comments. We do not condone these remarks.
However, these comments do not represent AJ as an adult. AJ has performed on many PPW events, and been nothing but a professional & locker room leader.
