A couple weeks ago, Impact Wrestling featured a match between Ethan Page and a mystery opponent. The opponent was billed by The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) as being a “Phenomenal Opponent”. The obvious tease was that Page would be wrestling AJ Styles, even though AJ is currently under contract with WWE. Instead, we got a hilarious parody from Swoggle (formerly WWE’s Hornswoggle), decked out in complete AJ Styles ring attire, theme music, etc.
In a new report provided by Fightful Select, AJ Styles was not aware of the spoof at first. However, once AJ found out about the parody, he “seemed to think it was great”. Additionally, there were no issues regarding the use of AJ Styles’ theme music and ring attire for the segment.
Swoggle’s parody was seen as a huge hit for both the WWE and Impact Wrestling locker room.
