Former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio has said the reaction to Vince McMahon’s departure has been “unfair.”
McMahon announced his retirement from WWE in July, following allegations of paying millions to staff to hide extramarital affairs and allegedly coercing one woman into performing oral sex.
An investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Del Rio addressed McMahon’s departure and the praise Triple H has received since replacing his father-in-law as head of creative.
“I think it’s a little bit unfair for Mr. McMahon because now that he’s gone there are some people saying that everything is better now.
“I think it’s unfair. They shouldn’t be saying that it’s better. They just should be saying that it’s different because that’s the way it is. It’s not better or worse, it’s not worse or better. It’s just different.”
Del Rio debuted on WWE’s main roster in 2010 and was released in 2014.
The former World Champion returned in 2015 but was released the following year.
