It has been a troublesome past couple of weeks for the current GFW Impact Heavyweight Champion, Alberto El Patron. Now, he plans on stepping down as the President of “Combate Americas” which is an MMA company. The company’s CEO Campbell McLaren, confirmed that El Patron is indeed stepping down from his duties (click here to read) to focus on wrestling.
Here’s a quote from Campbell McLaren in his interview with MMAUno: “I think he’s reaching a point in his career when he knows that the physical demands of wrestling are not what he wants to continue doing, but I think he knows he’s got a couple of years still left to keep maintaining his level of performance.”
He has also noted that El Patron will still be present at “Combate Americas” events. Most recently, El Patron was stripped of the WAW title and yesterday; news broke that his girlfriend Paige, could have battery charges placed against her following the altercation between the two at the Orlando International Airport.
