Former WWE Superstar Alex Riley recently started following TNA President Dixie Cater and TNA executives John Gaburick and Bob Ryder on Twitter.

Cody Rhodes vs. Jushin Thunder Liger is confirmed for the Northeast Wrestling event on August 28th. Rhodes will face off against Kurt Angle on night one of a two event weekend for Northeast Wrestling. This is part of their annual Wrestling Under the Stars event. That event features Liger vs. Jeff Hardy for the first time, along with appearances from Jerry Lawler, Brooklyn Brawler, Mike Bennett, Maria and more.

Gilberto Melendez (known to wrestling fans as Gypsy Joe) passed away at the age of 82. He had been sick for some time, and his passing was said to not be a surprise. Joe worked pretty much every where; for the WWWF, Puerto Rico, Memphis, Stampede Wrestling, W*ING and even Tajiri’s SMASH promotion in 2010. In 2007 he was named the oldest active wrestler by WWE Magazine at age 73. He retired in 2010 for health reasons.

It seems there’s another wrinkle in the former WWE Superstar Jesse Ventura’s legal case against Chris Kyle. According to a report by PWInsider, the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned the $1.8 million verdict in Jessica Ventura’s defamation lawsuit against the estate of late American Sniper author Chris Kyle.

The defamation case was over an altercation with Ventura described in Kyle’s book. Ventura claimed the incident never happened. In 2014, the jury ruled in Ventura’s favor, and he was reportedly awarded $1.8 million.

Kyle’s widow, Tara Kyle, appealed the judgment. The court on a 2-1 vote through out $1.35 million of the verdict that Ventura was awarded for “unjust enrichment.” The District Court was ordered to conduct a new trial to determine if the $500,00 defamation judgment in favor of Ventura is valid.
