According to reports, WWE has been talking about doing a WrestleMania 36 match featuring Natalya and Beth Phoenix vs. Asuka and Kairi Sane for the women’s tag-team titles.
While Phoenix appeared on RAW this past Monday, there was nothing done to set up this potential match. Natalya did do an interview backstage at today’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, saying she was “worried” about Beth Phoenix, who is “like a sister to her.” She said,
“She’s family, and after what happened to her last week, and watching her stand up to her family and then be brutally attacked by Randy Orton, it’s disgusting, it’s vile, and I feel like I didn’t do enough to help her, and I could’ve done more to help her. It’s just been something that’s been weighing heavily on my heart.”
It’s possible that WWE is going to hold off on pushing that match until the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is over. With that being said, there are rumors that WWE will be keeping Phoenix off TV to sell the injuries she suffered at the hands of Randy Orton. A final decision on whether the match will happen or not has not been made as of this writing.
