WWE Superstar Humberto is expected to receive his last name Carrillo back as part of WWE’s new era.
Last November, Humberto’s name was shortened to solely his first name, while his cousin Angel Garza was shortened to just ‘Angel.’
Recently, Angel confirmed that he will be working as Angel Garza again, with the Garza name being a tribute to his uncle the late-Hector Garza Jr.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Humberto is also expected to receive his last name.
“Angel has already noted he is getting the Garza name back, which is notable because that is a family name and under Vince the idea was no last names that had been used prior to WWE unless somebody is already established in WWE with that name or a Gable Steveson type. The belief is Humberto will get Carrillo back as well.”
Carrillo’s last on-screen match took place on the July 8 edition of SmackDown, where he and Angel lost to The Usos.
