Antonio Inoki Recalls Meeting With Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin

During a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki recalled the time he visited the Soviet Union back in 1989 and briefly met with Russian President and dictator Vladimir Putin. Inoki said,

“When I first went to Moscow, I had a chance to meet with some important people over there.

“As Masaru Sato (former chief analyst at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) wrote, when I entered the KGB building, Putin, who is now in absolute power, was serving tea. However, I understand that Putin is KGB, but I don’t think he experienced the war. I wonder what kind of people are attached to the general staff there and how they give instructions.”

Inoki worked in the Japanese House of Councilors from 1989 to 1995 and again from 2013 to 2019.
