AEW’s wide talent pool is both a blessing and curse for CEO Tony Khan. On one hand, the promotion has a plethora of talents to showcase week in, and week out, but on the other, the bloated roster ensures that not everyone will receive regular television time.
While speaking to The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Arn Aderson explained the status of both his and Brock Anderson’s AEW contracts. While the father-son duo is still contracted with AEW, the two men will be spending some time exploring the independent circuit until Tony Khan needs them back on television. Arn’s goal is to visit some training centers and get Brock ready for when AEW calls them up for their next on-screen appearance. The Enforcer said,
“Well, we work for AEW and we’re under contract right now. There’s a full roster; it’s hard to get everybody on every week, and we understand that, so Brock and I are going to reach out and go visit some schools, like Dr. Tom [Prichard’s] school, and obviously, our school that Billy Gunn and [QT Marshall] are masterminding down there in Atlanta.”
“We’re going to do some independent stuff and some signings, and we’re going to try our best to stay busy until [AEW] give us the call. And hopefully, we’ll be ready.”
Brock made his AEW debut on June 18, 2021, by teaming with Cody Rhodes and defeating Q.T. Marshall & Aaron Solow in tag team action on Dynamite. Since his debut, the young Anderson has competed only on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.
