As seen on this week’s WWE SmackDown! Live broadcast, the team of Kairi Sane and Asuka were named the “Kabuki Warriors.” Asuka tweeted the following on Tuesday, revealing what the word Kabuki or “Kabukimono” meant. She said,
“Kabukimono 傾奇者 Sengoku or Edo-period eccentric who attracted public attention with their eye-catching clothes, peculiar hairstyle, and weird behavior.”
Also, Paige commented on the team name, saying they girls actually wanted “Kabuki” in the name. She said,
“You know it was the girls who chose their name right? Well technically they wanted “kabuki girls” but it was changed to kabuki warriors. Chill.”
