– WWE NXT Women’s Champion Asuka has made WWE history by surpassing Rockin’ Robin’s 502 day reign as WWE Women’s Champion. Asuka is now the longest-reigning women’s champion of any kind, as well as the longest-reigning champion in WWE history (with the exception of the three-year reigns from Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund, Pedro Morales and Bruno Sammartino which will likely never be replicated).
Asuka is currently scheduled to defend her NXT Women’s Title against Ember Moon at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III this weekend (Sat. August 19, 2017) form the Barclays Center on the eve of SummerSlam. WWE Legends Goldberg and Kevin Nash took to Twitter to react to Asuka’s historical feat:
Congratulations and good luck to @WWEAsuka on her incredible streak as @WWENXT Women's Champion. We'll be … https://t.co/q3t9PX0jGD
