We have some backstage news to bring to you on Britt Baker, Matt Jackson, and Rey Fenix, per Wrestling Observer Radio.
Following his match with Orange Cassidy, Fenix apparently injured his hip after an outside dive onto a group of wrestlers. Bryan Alvarez adds that Fenix is “banged up” and “hurting,” but will likely still work the Casino Ladder match Saturday at the Double Or Nothing show.
As for Baker, she was seen favoring her knee during her tag team match, when Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida tossed Nyla Rose onto her. Rose seemed to land with all her weight on Baker’s knee. Baker’s right knee was already bent upon impact. As of right now, she’s still slated to face Statlander on Saturday, but she still needs to get evaluated by a doctor for what’s being described as “a pretty serious knee injury.”
Lastly, Matt Jackson, who dove off a wall with Nick onto The Inner Circle, suffered some sort of rib injury. It’s either a bruise, torn cartilage, or a break. He did take some shots to the ribs after the spot, and looked to be in legitimate pain as the program came to an end. He will be evaluated today, as he’s scheduled to be part of the Stadium Stampede match on Saturday.
