Per a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Global Force Wrestling (GFW) name is being phased out of Impact Wrestling. A recent Bound For Glory press release named the company as Impact Wrestling, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corporation. A merger between Impact and GFW was announced months ago, however, it was never finalized. There has been some push-back on having another re-branding and simply wanting to continue on using the GFW name, however, that is no longer believed to be an issue moving forward.

Now that Jeff Jarrett is on an indefinite leave from the company, the name Jarrett owns is no longer being used. As for Jarrett’s status with the company, they may announce publicly that he may be back, however, word backstage is that nobody has any idea what will be next for him. Another one of Anthem’s goals for Impact is to make it a Canadian company, due to the fact that Anthem is based in Toronto as well as some economical advantages.

The feeling behind the scenes is that the company will always be associated with the negativity of TNA, and will always be recognized as TNA if they remain in Orlando.
