According to sources, WWE has signed Jeff Jarrett to a new contract and he’ll be working as an agent/producer for the company. Jarrett and WWE recently came to terms on a new deal. Jarrett will also be appearing as an on-camera talent.
Jarrett’s new deal follows the signings of Shane “Hurricane” Helms, Abyss and Sonjay Dutt as recent WWE acquisitions. Helms, Abyss and Dutt are working backstage as agents/producers. With that being said, all three men may appear on TV in limited roles, if the opportunity arises, as they’ve all worked in the ring before. An example of this was on Monday night where The Road Dogg, who is an agent/producer, returned for a cameo role. The Road Dogg and Billy Kidman are also current WWE agents/producers.
Obviously, Jarrett was backstage at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event and Monday’s RAW TV tapings in Phoenix, AZ. He appeared on RAW in a segment with Elias. The Road Dogg also appeared on RAW with Elias and Jarrett. Dutt and Helms were also backstage at the RAW TV tapings. It appears as if we’ll see Elias vs. Jeff Jarrett in the very near future, possibly at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.
As many of you know by now, Jarrett appeared at Sunday night’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, entering the Rumble match as the #2 entry in the Royal Rumble. He was then quickly eliminated by Elias.
