As many of you know by now, Johnny Gargano & Kyle O’Reilly’s WWE contracts are expiring in the very near future and there has been a lot of speculation as to whether they will re-sign with the company. We know Gargano recently signed a short-term contract extension so he could work the WarGames event.
According to a report from Fightful, the assumption of many of those within WWE is that neither man will be around after this week is up. WWE offered them both multi-year deals and have made it known that they want their services.
Both Johnny Gargano & Kyle O’Reilly are expected to be backstage at Tuesday’s NXT TV tapings, so they won’t be doing their farewells just yet. As of this writing, there is no word on if they’ll be working the NXT TV tapings, though one source “high up” in the company suggested that the “worst case scenario” was that even if both re-signed, one of them would wind up taking some time off.
With that being said, the overall belief is that at least one (if not both) of them will be leaving the company and will explore other options. As you’d expect, the two are well aware of their size not doing them any favors with Vince McMahon and job security in WWE being at an all-time low these days even if they are under multi-year contracts.
