The Pro Wrestling Syndicate held a show last night at the Rahway Rec Center. Here’s what went down on the show:

* Fred “Shockmaster” Ottman made an appearance in the famous mask and announced the intermission. He didn’t do his fall though since he was on crutches.

* PWS’ November return will feature actor Dennis Haskins, aka Mr. Belding from Saved by The Bell, will wrestle the PWS champion Kevin Matthews. The angle is that Haskins messed up with Matthews and the heel group Reality Check on the last show so now Matthews wants revenge. Mr. Belding’s last appearance led to a lot of publicity for the group so they want to try and repeat that success.

* Star Man was brought out as a surprise challenger to Kevin Matthews for the PWS title to close out the show. Star Man is based on a character from an old Nintendo wrestling game. He was the same outfit with and comes out to 80’s game music. Fans have reportedly really taken to the character not unlike Mikey Whipwreck in ECW.

*Star Man is way over as a character. For those who haven’t seen the character, it’s basically a character literally lifted out of an old Nintendo wrestling game dressed from head to toe in pink with a purple star over his head. The gimmick is that he’s the actual character lifted from the game so he comes out to this 80s game music, pauses during the game as if he is frozen and walks like an 80s sprite character would. He was brought out as a surprise challenger to Kevin Matthews’ PWS title at the end of the night and the place went nuts. The closest thing I can draw an analogy to would be Mikey Whipwreck in ECW where this lark of a character has just taken on its own identity and the fans have made him their own.

* Sami Callihan visited the show. He was set for a tour of the UK for this weekend, but it fell through. There were reportedly plans for Callihan to cut a promo, but those also changed during the show.

* Brittney Savage took part in the WWE developmental tryout camp.

* PWS wanted the show last night to be an iPPV, but those plans did not come to fruition due to issues with production costs with the provider being worked with. PWS on iPPV is currently on hold.

* The next PWS event is set for November 9 and it will feature Jerry Lynn vs. Colt Cabana, Dan Maff vs. Manu, Rene Dupree, Matt Hardy, Callihan and many more.

* Set for their December 7 show is Mantaur vs. Tito Santana which is being dubbed “Bull vs. the Bullfighter.”
